Videos auto-play muted the moment you tap them — the thumbnail is replaced by moving video before you have a chance to study it. Thumbnails (players celebrating, for example) can hint at a result, so skipping past them is a core part of the spoiler-free experience.
On iOS, tap 🔊 Tap for sound in the player to unmute.
Two iPhone settings can block auto-play, leaving the thumbnail visible:
• Low Power Mode — turn it off in Settings → Battery (or Control Center) while you watch.
• Low Data Mode — check Settings → Cellular → your network (or Wi-Fi settings).
If a video ever sits paused on its thumbnail, tap play without studying the screen — once it's rolling, you're safe.
World Cup matches: an automated watcher checks every five minutes. Once the official highlight video appears on YouTube, it's typically live on True Highlights within about 15 minutes.
Other competitions run through an hourly pipeline — usually live within about an hour of the video appearing on YouTube.

A lot, by design. Here's what we strip out so nothing gives the game away:
• No scores — ever, anywhere on the site.
• No thumbnails — videos auto-play past them before you can read them.
• No video titles in the match list; risky titles are also hidden during playback.
• No comments — YouTube's comment section is not shown.
• No related-video sidebar — no chance of a spoiler peeking in from the side.
• Stops before the end screen — YouTube's end-screen often previews other results; we cut just before it.
You stay in control — nothing reveals a result unless you go looking for it.

They're official highlight videos, embedded straight from the leagues' and broadcasters' YouTube channels — we don't host or re-upload anything, so views and ads still go to the creators. True Highlights is independent and not affiliated with the leagues or YouTube; we just present their highlights spoiler-free.
These are official broadcaster highlights. The US rights-holders (FOX, Telemundo, and others) license most of them for viewing in the United States, so outside the US many simply won't play — that's a restriction the rights-holders set on YouTube, not something we can change.
